Time Machine : sda errors

I have a new 4TB WD 'my passport' drive attached to my RT-AC3200 via USB3.
I enabled Time Machine, and started a mac backup running.
All looks fine, but I happened to look at the router log and see frequency
Jan 28 21:06:38 kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 97241056
or similar
firmware is 3.0.0.4.382_50010

dmesg shows:

Having "problem" with ASUS RT-AC86U (upload/lan speed)
5G (only 5G router in neigborhood if i scan network)

2.5 meters from router clear sight. signal quality (995) connection speed "866".

Copy from other PC/NAS to device (Lenovo T570) using Intel AC 8265 card: latest 20.20.2.2 drivers
result 50-40 Mb sec

Copy from Notebook - to any device on LAN (1G ethernet connection) max upload speed is 12-14 Mb/sec

Tried booting Live Ubuntu 17.10 which give same results so no Win10/driver...

Question for those that have installed the latest AIMESH firmware and then for whatever reason reverted back to a traditional setup (router + AP for example). Is the current aimesh firmware stable or are there issues in that configuration as well? Just wondering if I should roll back to a different FW revision, and if so, what's a good solid stable version?

Hoping things get ironed out with AIMESH as it suits my needs, but for the moment, I've spent too much time monkeying with it and had...

Been running RT-AC88U as main router with a RP-AC68U hardwired to it at the other end of the house, which has worked ok.

I just bought a new RT-AC88U to setup AiMesh, which has been running fine since done 24 hours ago, and have removed the RP-AC68U from the this network now.

What I have found so far to be an issue is when a client roams from the main to the node (vice versa)

On the old network setup with the repeater, my client would roam to the other device without dropping an ongoing...

Hi all,

I am running two RT-AC68U in AiMesh and getting very frequent wifi disconnection. At first i thought it was the google casting service is causing the problem. This was recently reported in most tech sites. After updated the phone with the fix from google i'm still getting the disconnection. Looking at the general system log i see a lot of disconnection due to weak signal (disconnect weak signal strength station). Please see the log posted below.

OK setup is 1 RT-AC3100 working as the main AiMesh Router with 2 RT-AC68 nodes on ethernet backhauls. The only network changes I have made was going to AiMesh from Router / AP mode. Now all of a sudden I have to add the gateway IP to all of the client machines because they can't seem to get the value from DHCP . Everything works after adding that setting; though I do end up with 2 Networks according to Windows 10 a private one and a public Unknown one. Also not sure if this is related but I...

I bought a brand new RT-AC68W (RT-AC68U White) yesterday for replacement of my old Netgear AP with hopes to AIMesh working with my already existing RT-AC68U that I have been running for a number of years.

I updated and performed a factory reset on my main router (RT-AC68U) and notice the added functionality for AIMesh in the GUI. Made a basic setup to get it up and running.

Then I hooked up the new RT-AC68W, made a quick setup and updated the firmware to the same release as the main node....

AiMesh problem switching back and forth between nodes

RT-AC86u main router 10007 firmware
RT-AC1900p 20287 firmware as AiMesh node

Playing a game on my Android 7 tablet in my den, about halfway between main and node. Sitting in one place.

Tablet keeps switching back and forth between main and node. Getting kicked out of game or losing connection to game.

Confirms using WiFi Manager that when I lose connectivity, it's the tablet switching between nodes. Or. The nodes switching the tablet.

Signal level to both points is about -38 dbm....

Running three RT-AC68U routers with the latest FW. One is the main router and two others are configured as AiMesh Nodes. On one node I have my media devices connected to LAN ports. I noticed that when watching Netflix (NVIDIA Shield TV connected to the AiMesh Node LAN port) connection becomes unstable (slow, occasional drops) and buffering starts to be noticeable after about an hour of watching Netflix. To be transparent i have two TMobile 1900's converted to AC68P's with 1.0.2.5 CFE and 384_20287 FW. I went this route as the previous FW, i was experiencing the disconnected node issue and another thread suggested the AC68P over the AC68U CFW/FW. I'm a cordcutter so stream a lot of video. I noticed frequent pauses in video so I setup a constant ping to the main router. When my video stops, ping replies stop as well. in less than a second, the router comes back online. wake on lan firmware aimesh rt-ac88u

I have a router asus rt-ac88u to which I have put the firmware of asus to use it with aimesh the day they take out if they remove it for the rt-ac87u before with the merlin firmware of ac87u and the script that is in the forum for the wake on lan had no problems ..
Now with the firmware for the ac88u of asus I do not know how to configure the arp so that the entry of the ip that I want to wake up remains permanent.
Any ideas?

My RT-AC66U_B1 reported a firmware upgrade this morning. As before, going to Administration - Firmware Upgrade gave me the upgrade progress bar with no upgrade at the end. Using the Android app also failed the upgrade. I downloaded the 384-20308 upgrade file, rebooted the router, went to the Administration - Restore/Save/Upload Settings tab then back to the Firmware Upgrade tab, clicked the Upload link, found the file and the firmware upgrade ran successfully! I had also cleared the Firefox...

Aimesh and daisy chain not working

Hi,
3 x AC68U.
#1 main
#2 node - ethernet backhaul
#3 node - wireless from node #2 (who is closest.)

I get no connection to the #3 node, what so ever, except when it is placed next to the main. There it works wireless. (I installed it wireless) It seems that it just want to connect to #1 main, and not #2 via wireless.

I even tried to put it next to the node, but still not connected via wireless. Any idea?
(It works if I put a eth cable in wan, off course) :)

Having used 2 routers in a Router/AP config for years, I'm interested in AiMesh, but have a number of questions about the expectations around the promise of centralized management.

If I make a config-level change (e.g. control channel for one of the bands) on the router, will that change automatically propagate to the node(s)?

If I make a radio-level change (e.g. disable MU-MIMO), especially one that doesn't exist on all router models, will that change automatically propagate to the...

@arthurlien Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but in version 3.0.0.4.384.20287, the Media Bridge function is broken. Once you join a wireless network, the process completes, and the router reboots, but when you re-access through the gui, the router takes you through the setup wizard again, like the configuration never got applied, though I can ping it, and passes traffic normally.
