AC3100 log spam

I supposed I should stop lurking around and finally post a question, since searching around hasn't yielded any results.

I recently bought my second rt-ac3100 for a second household, and was the first asus router I have used since using firmware 45149. I have had good luck with my first ac3100 configured the way I have it, and since my second router is placed in a very identical environment I used almost the same configuration other then different wireless channels and bandwidth. I haven't...

Have an Asus RT-1900P - would like to purchase another router for AIMesh

As the subject says, I have an existing Asus RT-1900P that I am currently using in AP mode only.

I have poor Wi-Fi coverage in one area and would like to buy another Asus and use AiMesh to extend it using the Wi-Fi backchannel as there is no way for me to extend the wired network to where I need it.

The Asus website says Aimesh in AP mode is supported but no detail.

Which reasonably priced Asus model would be the best to purchase for this that would work with my RT-1900P?

Asus ever going to fix dual wan?

Despite asus generally have good support or great if your using Merlin firmware its always failed in the dual wan support.

From day one its never worked correctly often not falling over to backup internet connections of falling over then falling back to the failed connection.

The issue has always seemed to be how asus detects a failed connection with it often refusing to fall over unless the cable from the down modem is unplugged or fall back for some reason even though the primary modem...

Office support for cake-fq codel?

I just wanted to ask if there will be official support or future units that support cake.

A user on the Merlin side of the fourm was able to add cake, I just wanted to ask if we could please have official support at driver level for FQ-CODEL and Cake, since this would be extremely beneficial to the end users and make adaptive QoS more worthwhile to use in its current state it requires a lot of work with Cake and FQ-CODEL, QoS would be more compatible with all connection types.

Will we ever be able to use custom scripts on stock firmware, it would be nice for example for stock firmware to have an option like merlins to allow for the use of custom scripts like freshjr qos script, so that units like the GT-AC5300 could have such functionality available to it

[SOLVED] Help! Cannot connect AC68U to my AC86U as aimesh node

Quick background
- 86U brand new just purchased and ensured it has latest firmware for aimesh
- 68U older router running v24/2014 flavor of dd-wrt. Used Asus Recovery to flash latest firmware to 68U. The first time I flashed the router was very slow so I did a factory reset in the Asus UI itself and then reflashed the firmware a second time and it seems fast and stable.

THE PROBLEM
- Everything seems happy; I power on the 68U and when I click aimesh in the 86u host router...

Daisy-chain Topology for AiMesh

The last node in the chain reverts to a star topology using the master router 5ghz dedicated backbone radio despite having terrible signal quality (-87dbm), and great quality to the middle node (-60dbm), after changing any of the wireless settings. This never corrects itself without hard rebooting the last node in the chain (is there a way to reboot a single node in AiMesh yet?).

AIProtection: Worth the Overhead?

Hi,

Since April 18, 2019 I've had 19 Malicious Site Blocking hits. They all seem to have been a byproduct of normal Internet usage.

Is there a speed/performance overhead that would make such routine blocking (something I'd think my AV software would do anyways) not worth it? Or is AIProtection a zero-overhead service?

Thanks,
Anton

Is the RT-AC3200 even being updated by ASUS?

So i just found out about the AI-Mesh that ASUS is implementing in their new firmware. Sounds perfect since i just bough an AC5300 and would like to use my 3200 as another AP on the other side of my house. But looking on the ASUS website it only states AC5300 coming soon which make me believe they forgot all about the AC3200. The router seems to still be relevant in terms of specs and looks like the 3100. So i really dont understand why this router seems to be forgotten.

Hey guys, I was preparing to update to the newest fw when I got side tracked working with an IT guy who needed access to the router for configuration purposes in order to flash new firmware onto one of my network devices. I had created him a strong pw using LastPass, but after the remote session was over and everything was good I changed the password using Lastpass again but failed to have Lastpass save it for me... What a dufus. Now I have a VERY strong PW on my router that I do not know,...

RT-AC3100 CFE mini web

In the wee hours of the morning I was confronted by the dreaded "NO INTERNET CONNECTION" on my browser. Hmm, do I go to bed or do I investigate :)

I connected to my router (RT-AC3100) and was confronted by the CFE miniWeb page. I selected reboot and a few minutes later all was well. Things have been very stable lately and the only thing going on at 4AM was me browsing the web.

I double NAT behind an ActionTEC FiOS-G1100 on Frontier service at 100/100 (in case someone was going to ask)....

AC68P can't get full 400 Mbps speed

I just upgraded by Xfinity internet service from 60 Mbps to 400 Mbps. A direct connection to my Motorola SB8600 cable modem can achieve more than 400 Mbps, but I could only get about 130 Mbps wired through the AC68P. After turning off QoS, web history, parental control, and etc., I am now able to get close to 300 Mbps. I am on the latest firmware.

My question is, which higher end ASUS router will allow me to use the entire 400 Mbps bandwidth or maybe even 1 Gbps without disabling any...

optimizing roaming between APs sharing the same SSID

hi all,

I finally swallowed my pride, ditched my AiMesh setup and reverting back to using multiple APs sharing the same SSID. The dream of having a centralized management for wifi was simply not attainable: I am battling constantly with unstable wifi with frequent drop-out. At least with multiple APs, I know for certain that once connected, the wifi connection will be stable.

What I am trying to do is to make sure a wireless client is able to roam freely between multiple APs, always...

Maybe it's been mentioned before and I missed it. I just noticed that, on a reboot, all my executable files in /jffs and below had their X attribute removed. This includes the .asusrouter script I used to schedule some cron housekeeping. I believe this is a new "feature". I saw this on all three of my RT-AC68Us only after installing
3.0.0.4.384.45717. One is configured as the AiMesh network router, one is a node, and one is a repeater.

Has anyone else seen this and is there any way around...

Rt-ac86u gui freeze

Having an issue with a new 86u when I'm using the web interface. Every few minutes the gui will lock up and become unresponsive. Refreshing the page or even opening up a new one results in a blank page. The only way to access the interface again is to restart the router. Firmware is stock 3.0.0.4.384_81039. I have a 68u setup as a ai mesh node with wired backhaul. The entire network continues to work during the web interface crash. Any ideas?
