RT-AC87U - Does Feedback work?

Hi,

Currently on 3.0.0.4.382_50702 f/w. The feedback doesn't go through. It errors out with this message

The system failed to connect to the mail server(possibly caused by your ISP blocked SMTP port 25

I don't see the Asus mail server listening on 25. So it wouldn't work unless they update the port in the f/w.

Has it worked for anyone?

[Bug] CPU loading is 100% in core 1

Hi all guys,

I am Vanic, I need your help for feedback issue about "CPU usage on Core 1 to go up to nearly 100% while Core 2 remains under 2-3% usage. This causes massive slowdown in the performance of the router."
I know it happened in RT-AC68U / RT-AC87U, but I don't have enough information to trace what happened, if you encounter this issue, please contact with me.

Port forwarding not working at port 80 on RT-AC68U !!!!

Hi guys, I have a TR-AC68U with firmware 3.0.0.4.384_21140.
In my LAN I have a web server that publishes on port 80.
I would like to publish to WAN on the same port 80, but it does not work.
when I change the external port to 8080 it works without problems.
I test the external port through the site: https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/, which informs that port 80 is closed.
in the forwarding configuration I have already put the local port and also left it clean. did not...

[SOLVED] Help! Cannot connect AC68U to my AC86U as aimesh node

Quick background
- 86U brand new just purchased and ensured it has latest firmware for aimesh
- 68U older router running v24/2014 flavor of dd-wrt. Used Asus Recovery to flash latest firmware to 68U. The first time I flashed the router was very slow so I did a factory reset in the Asus UI itself and then reflashed the firmware a second time and it seems fast and stable.

THE PROBLEM
- Everything seems happy; I power on the 68U and when I click aimesh in the 86u host router...

A long-time lurker of the great info on this site but first time post. I found it interesting that all the best discussions and was going to post of my issue until I solved it. I read up quite a bit on this before jumping in but still cannot get it to work. I was thinking I might have some performance issues but not an issue actually getting it to work.

I was happily using an RT-AC1900P as my main router with various switches and a few AP's hanging off of it.

Hey all,

I have an AC66u (v1) and an AC5300. Both are broadcasting 2.4/5 all on the same SSID, and this ... has been problematic. Random times where if on one router, it won't talk to the other. Random unavailability of internet. Just oddness. I'm now running solely on my AC5300 and so far, seems to be more stable.

Anyway, I'd like a better setup either using AiMesh or one of the mesh competitors. I've played with eero (very feature-less), and Orbi (holy buggy/unstable!). Debating trying...

Hi All. I bought two RT-AC68U routers and flashed the latest firmware (3.0.0.4.384_21140-ge07a2dd). Followed the official ASUS AiMesh set up guide but i simply can't get router to find the node.
I've literally tried every tip i can find and spent well over 20 hours trying to get this to work but with no success whatsoever.

However i've noticed something in the system log, or actually the lack of something (I think). Isn't there suppose to be any entries in the log when the router starts to...

Isn't initializing search for AiMesh nodes supposed to show up in the system log?

Wifi calling and AIMesh

Whenever I am on a wifi call and my phone switches between routers, the call drops.

Any way around this?

AC86U main router
2x AC68U nodes (one wired, one wireless)

Can't access RT‑AC1900P web gui

I am on latest firmware for Asus for RT-AC1900P, AIMesh is enabled, node is also a RT-AC1900P (wired)

I can ping 192.168.1.1 internally and browse anywhere on the internet from LAN, can access both 2.4/5ghz wifi bands, but when I try to go to the router web gui, it just waits forever trying to connect to 192.168.1.1 (either Safari or Chrome on Mac, iPhone or iPad)

I tried also VPN to the router from outside using OpenVPN since server is running on the router, and it does assign the IP...

I've been using AIMESH for months now and haven't had an issue with the ethernet backhaul until I upgraded to this latest release. I have a 68P as the main router, and 2 68U nodes. All are connected with ethernet, and backhaul has always worked. I reset each router (by holding the small reset button on the back for 10 seconds) after the firmware upgrade, and re-connected the mesh network. Unfortunately the ethernet backhaul is not clicking in. The lights on the main router are not...

ASUS Router iOS App V 1.0.0.0.95 - How to remove some Offline Clients

Hi,

The new version of ASUS Router iOS App now provides:
  • option to not allow remote access setup. Thank you!
  • It also provide listing of Offline Clients. Thank you!
However, I discovered that I have some Offline Clients in the list, despite that they no more exist in my network for months. May I know:
  • where is the offline Client information kept?
  • how can I selectively remove clients that no longer exist in my network?
PS: I have tried ... somehow...

I have reported this issue to Asus, Merlin and posted on forums.

Asus pretty much a no answer on the tech side, well I expected less at least I got a reply from a level 1 canned response o_O

Merlin says contact Asus :rolleyes:

So this issue I have had after Merlin 378.50 and Asus 3.0.0.4.378.8258 is anything higher than these builds and you are setting up Media Bridge the Media Bridge simply stops responding every 24 hours. I AM ON THE LATEST FIRMWARE of Merln and tried on latest...

I tested some wireless settings and they all buggy in 2G and 5G!
2G n only would be exactly what is described for legacy while 2G legacy should be named b/g!
Said that I completely missing the usefull 2G g/n mixed mode without problematic b (22MHz-DSSS)

2G wireless mode
auto: b/g/n -> correct
legacy: b/g -> NOT correct as n (54Mbps) missing!
n only: b/g/n -> NOT correct as opening b/g too!...

Could you please advice how to change language of latest firmware of GT-AC5300, I bought and use it in Japan, but now I need to change user (Administrative) interface on English, unfortunately I could not find the options to change on any other languages. Thank you in advance for any advises.

So I just got a second RT-AC5300 and set it up as a node to my parent RT-AC5300 AP. These are the only 2 AiMesh devices. Both are running the latest 3.0.0.4.384_21140-ge07a2dd

I have a 3rd Asus RT-AC88U acting as the Router running Merlin 384.6 (hence not in the AiMesh) - it is ethernet to the parent AP.

If I connect WiFi to the parent AP all is good.
If I connect ethernet to the node (which then backhauls over 5Ghz to the main AP) all is good.
If I connect WiFi to the node then it is...

Hi,
I have two Asus routers, the RT-AC86U set as the main mesh router and the RT-AC68U which I am trying to set as the mesh node, but, so far I have been unsuccessful. I tried resetting both routers to factory settings, changed IPs, nothing worked. It does seem that the AC86U sees the RT-AC68U for a brief moment, but then it fails to connect to the mesh network (the 'node detected' icon disappears and the wheel spins forever).
I have followed the steps properly, so is there a known problem...

Hello,

I have tried everything I can think of to get my Blue Cave to add a node including Latest Firmware, Factory Reset both, downgrade the 68u, move devices from 1' - 20'. Blue Cave sees node and sometimes it will count to 100% and fail and other times about 50% then speed up count and fail.

Are there any tricks to make the initial pairing a success?
